Kyle Burghout, award-winning Canadian fiddler and composer, has performed across Canada, the USA, Ireland, Italy, Austria, and Hungary, both as a solo performer and with various groups. He has received many awards for his music, including most recently being named runner-up at the 2017 Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championship, as well as a winner of the 2017 Canadian Songwriting Competition. Other past awards include North American Irish Fiddle Champion, Canadian Open Duet Fiddle Champion, and two-time finalist at the prestigious All-Ireland Fiddle Competition. 

In addition to specializing in traditional fiddling, Kyle also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical violin performance and composition from the University of Ottawa. He joined the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra as its youngest member in 2011 and continues to play with the orchestra occasionally.

Kyle is currently the Artistic Director of Fiddleheads Musical Theatre in Chelsea, QC, where he teaches and directs a group of talented, young fiddlers ranging in age from 5 to 19. In 2015, Kyle released an EP with his trio Branches of Silver, and in September 2017, released his long-awaited debut solo album, The Prism Within.
